The Nike Air Alpha Force 88 “University Red” is a colorway of the classic basketball shoe that is most notable for being worn by Michael Jordan with the Chicago Bulls against the New York Knicks in January 1988. This was one of the few times Jordan wore a non-signature Nike model in an NBA game. The shoe featured a white tumbled leather construction with an adjustable black strap on the midfoot. A University Red leather Swoosh matches the color of the molded eyelets and collar. Classic “Air Force” branding is seen on the tongue tag and a small “Nike” logo is paired with “Air” detailing on the heel. Underfoot, an Air cushioning pod is placed in the heel of the midsole.
